Tom Eagles, A.C.E. is an Academy Award nominated film editor from Aotearoa New Zealand. Eagles is a frequent collaborator of director Taika Waititi, having cut his most recent feature Next Goal Wins for Walt Disney Studios. Most notably, Eagles edited JoJo Rabbit, which earned him an Oscar and BAFTA nomination, as well as an ACE Award. Previous collaborations include Hunt for the Wilderpeople, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival, and What We Do in the Shadows, which was co-directed by Jemaine Clement.

 

Eagles' other work includes director Jeymes Samuel's most recent features The Book of Clarence and BAFTA winner The Harder They Fall, the latter earning Eagles a Black Reel Award for Outstanding Editing. He has experience in diverse genres, having cut the crime/drama On the Count of Three for director Jerrod Carmichael, the action flick Shadow in the Cloud for director Roseanne Liang, and the comedy The Breaker Upperers for directors Madeleine Sami and Jackie van Beek. 

Eagles also has many television credits, including Boots Riley's I'm a Virgo for Amazon Prime, and episodes of the FX series What We Do in the Shadows, directed by Jackie van Beek.


Originally from New Zealand, Eagles is now LA-based.
