Nathan Crowley began his career as a set designer on Hook, and Bram Stoker's Dracula after attending Brighton School of Art in the United Kingdom. As an Art Director, Crowley worked on Braveheart, Mission Impossible 2 and The Devil's Own before becoming a prestigious Production Designer.
Most recently, Crowley designed the Oscars Best Picture nominee Wicked for Jon M. Chu, for which he has received over 20 nominations, including the Oscars' Best Achievement in Production Design. For his impressive sets on the film, he has earned a Critics Choice, BAFTA, and ADG Award. Crowley also designed the upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good.
Other recent credits include Paul King'sWonka, starring Timothée Chalamet, and Christopher Nolan's Tenet, starring Robert Pattinson.
Crowley has Designed films including Behind Enemy Lines, Insomnia, Veronica Guerin, Batman Begins, The Lake House, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Public Enemies, The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, The Greatest Showman, Dunkirk, and First Man. Crowley has received Academy Award nominations for The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Dunkirk and First Man as well as BAFTA nominations for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Dunkirk and First Man. Crowley has also received an Emmy Nomination for his design work on the Pilot for Westworld.
