Jessica Baclesse is an award-winning film editor working in features, television and commercials. Most recently, she edited the sports drama Rez Ball which was directed by Sydney Freeland and selected for World Premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. She edited Michael B. Jordan's directing debut Creed III with Tyler Nelson, which opened to record breaking success at the box office. She was an additional editor on Marvel's 2021 television series Loki, directed by Kate Herron, and a pre-production editor on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

 

Baclesse's work on Nike's 2020 You Can't Stop Us received an Emmy for Outstanding Commercial, a Cannes Grand Prix Lion and an AICP Award for Best Editing Montage. She has also edited global commercial campaigns, including Instagram's Get Into What You Love, which was nominated for a Webby Award for Best Use of Video or Moving Image in Advertising.

She received her Master of Fine Arts in Film from Columbia University in New York and has edited many critically-renowned narrative shorts featured at festivals such as Slamdance, LA Film Festival, and Palm Springs International Film Festival.

​She grew up in the cornfields of rural Missouri and her first feature job was as assistant editor to Elliot Graham, A.C.E. on Restless where she projected 35mm daily rolls for director Gus Van Sant and director of photography, Harris Savides.
